Tallahassee, by choice.
I'm from Green Cove Springs. At 18, I chose Tallahassee, and I've been choosing it ever since.
I studied political science and economics. My work is in workforce development: helping people get hired.
This site is where I keep the record: what got decided, what it costs, and what's actually built. Every claim links to a source you can open yourself.
Everybody wants the house. But who can still afford the city?
My work is helping people get hired. On the City's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, I sit with the other half of the same question. Once people have the job, can they afford to stay?
Those answers get decided in meetings most people never see, in documents most people never read. I read them. I explain them in plain English before the vote, and I come back after to report what actually happened. A problem explained without a report back is only half the job.
Showing up is one part of civic life. Knowing what you're showing up for is the rest. That's what this site is for: the record, sourced, dated, and corrected in public when I get something wrong.
Tallahassee doesn't have to play small. Build. Don't wait.
Different rooms.
Same city.

My committee rule. I serve on the City of Tallahassee's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, appointed by the City Commission. I do not write about, grade, or track any matter while it is before that committee, and I do not use anything I learn in that seat that isn't already public. When a matter I've tracked comes before the committee, the entry is marked 'paused — committee matter' until the committee's work on it is finished and public.
Hear from meevery Sunday.
